Thinking Green Has Earned Mohawk FloorCare Essentials™ High Praise
Established in 1970, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has worked to improve human health and the environment by leading the nation’s environmental science, research, education, and assessment efforts.
As one of the largest recyclers in the flooring industry, Mohawk makes it a priority to responsibly lead efforts like those outlined by the EPA. This mindset has led to developments like Mohawk's initiative to recycle millions of pounds of tires into doormats every year, as well as their use of sawdust and bio–waste as alternative energy sources in thei manufacturing processes.
Nielsen Bros Flooring takes pride in offering Mohawk's Earth-friendly products, not only for their sustainability, but for the innovative ways the company saves energy while creating them.
Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Represent Design for the Environment
When awarding the distinguished Design for the Environment (DfE) label, the EPA focuses on a product’s reduction of chemical risk and improvements in energy efficiency with lasting, positive change.
A scientific review team screens each ingredient to determine its effects on both human health and the environment, and to ensure that the product contains only ingredients which pose minimal concern compared to other chemicals in their class.
The DfE label allows consumers to quickly identify and choose products that help protect the environment and are safer for families. By meeting DfE standards, Mohawk has earned the right to display this logo on their entire line of FloorCare Essentials products.*
They went the extra mile in their bottling process, as well. Mohawk has the world’s largest fully-integrated PET bottle-recycling plant, and their plastic FloorCare Essentials bottles and spray triggers are all 100% recyclable.
Taking care of the earth is a duty that we don’t take lightly. With Mohawk FloorCare Essentials, you can keep your floors looking fantastic while instituting a green initiative of your own.
