Yes, both vinyl plank flooring and LVT flooring can be removed and reinstalled when they're installed with the floating floor technique. It's a great way to save money, rather than replacing the entire floor and is also environmentally responsible since waste doesn't end up in the landfill.
However, standard sheet vinyl flooring or composite tiles, which are usually installed as the glue-down or peel and stick method, may not do as well. Removal wouldn't be a problem, but reinstalling would. During the removal process, the pieces of peel and stick adhesive backings could become damaged.
Why can they do it with a floating floor installation?
There's no glue with a floating floor. Pieces click together and then hover over the subfloor, so they need to be clicked out and lifted. It's easy and fast and becomes even less demanding as planks are removed, giving the surface more space.
Why should you choose luxury vinyl plank?
LVP is a remarkably realistic echo of hardwood flooring, and, right now, wood floors are all the trend. You would install it especially in areas, like the bathroom or basement where you want the look of wood, but may be limited due to water and moisture challenges.
The images are taken with 3D photography and a digital printer. They show knots, wormholes, grains, swirls, and rings. Embossing adds depth, dimension, and textured features, and the flooring comes with a wide assortment of matte, gloss, and high-gloss colors. LVP is made by cutting the vinyl into strips and then mounting them on boards to mimic hardwood planks. It can also be cut into groutable, tile-sized pieces where many feel the extra seams add to the realism.
